Why should I pay to have my house cleared?

We offer a personal and competitive service compared to the alternative of hiring skips and then having to fill these yourself. We always price each job individually, but typically we complete an average house clearance for £75 which compares very favourably with the cost of skip hire and your time. In addition, we're able to assure you your items will be reused where possible and if not disposed of correctly.


Is there anything you can't take away?

We can clear almost anything from your premises, including everything stored in outbuildings, lofts, garden sheds etc.  The only items we cannot touch are those which are potentially hazardous or require specialist disposal, such as asbestos, tyres, some types of paint, chemicals and rubble.  We can provide you with further guidance on disposing of these items on request.


What if I have items of value?

Please bring these to our attention at the time we arrange a quote. If you wish to retain some property we'll agree with you which items should be left or we can flex our quote to account for these and take them away. If we find any items (either during a house clearance or later) which we believe may have a sentimental value then we'll return these to you.


I’m worried about strangers coming into my house. Who will do the work and do you sub-contract to other firms?

We do not use other firms and have a very small and dedicated team who will treat your home and your belongings with respect. You can observe us working at any time but we appreciate that as a clearance may take a whole day (or more if it's a large property) this may not be feasible. We're happy to work with you regarding the collection and return of keys and would always recommend you view the house once the work is complete and before payment of our fee.


What will you do with my items?

We'll always try to reuse your belongings wherever possible. This may include a combination of repairing items or ‘up-cycling’ them ourselves for selling on, or donating to charity. Anything which cannot be reused will be recycled if possible and if not will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.


Do you only do a house clearance?

No, in addition to clearing your house or commercial premises, we're also happy to undertake the following services:

  • A ‘Man with Van’ service to transport your property from A to B, including picking up items from elsewhere to deliver back to your home (please note whilst we're happy to move household items for you we do not offer a full house moving service).

  • If you're clearing your home with a view to selling it, we can quote for any required painting / decorating, manual labour or a full spring clean.


How do I arrange a quote?

We'll then provide a written quote which we guarantee will not increase unless of course you later ask us to undertake additional work.


How do I know your firm is reputable?

We're committed to providing a friendly and reliable service and will always treat you and your property with respect. We're registered with, and licenced by the Environment Agency to carry controlled waste. You can check our registration by searching the Environment Agency register of approved waste carriers by searching under ‘R&R Clearance and Salvage’ or by using our registration number CB/QM3843ZA/A001.

We hold public liability insurance of £1m for your protection.
